Vistumbler!

October 2, 2008 – 1:07 am by Daniel

After the 3rd hour of listening to a lecture based on William O’Brien’s discussion on The Conduct of Just and Limited War, I got an itching in my system to zone off. I decided to fire up my computer to see what I could do on my school’s wireless network and swiftly moved forward to download everyone Window’s admin favorite wireless network analyzer, netstumbler (http://www.netstumbler.com/). I was on my nifty Samsung Q1 at the time running Vista and had not realized that netstumbler is not supported on Vista!!! (why come the world is so cruel). Luckily there’s an alternative, Vistumbler (http://vistumbler.sourceforge.net/). Got that baby installed and started scanning right away — great program by the way, I’ll post some screenshots when I get a chance.

By the time I got a full set of IPs scanned (using Angry IP Scanner of course [http://www.angryziber.com/w/Home]) and finished downloading NMap (muwahaha)…. class ended. I’ll get you next time random computers…
