Victoria’s Secret disappears from my closet…

November 11, 2008 – 4:49 pm by Patricia

As popular as Victoria’s Secret bras are (and yes, I own a good number of them), there are some downsides to owning a VS bra.

  1. They are cut for women whose breasts point straight forward. Most Asians and petite women have perky breasts, but, in addition to this, they most likely they don’t stand at attention facing your 12 o’clock. Sorry. It’s more like 11:05… using both hands of the clock. HA HA!
  2. They never have my size. Don’t hate on the A Cups, VS. It hurts my pride and makes me feel little. In more ways than one.
  3. There is formaldehyde in them.

Wait, what was that last one? Formaldehyde?! Yes, according to ABCNews.com, some women have reported getting “rashes, hives, and permanent scarring.” There have been enough claims that a class action lawsuit is being considered. Fancy that — the world’s most famous bras make me itch.

Personally, I haven’t had a problem with mine, but Item #1 on my list is enough to make me switch. What do I enjoy wearing? Wacoal. The padding on a VS bra is shit compared to Wacoal, which is fitted more accurately to the body of petite Asian women. I love my Wacoal bras. Plus they don’t give me rashes.

No, you aren't what I really wanted.

The aubergine tights arrived. And brown. The brown boots and Jessica Simpson pumps are going back to the store.

They were poor excuses for what I really wanted, which is a dark brown heeled ANKLE bootie and a black NON-patent leather peep-toe ankle bootie. Not a pump.

I hate it when I lie to myself when I go shopping. I say to myself, “Yes, Patricia, you will find something in your closet to wear with these. They are adorable!” And then I go home, only to crush all hopes and dreams for these new items and to realize that I was fooling myself.

I just… can't like you.

So… Lily Donaldson. This girl has been everywhere for the past year. She’s got gams, let me tell you. She’s wanted by all of the biggest designers. So, why don’t I like her?

There’s something about her face and body that irks me. Her slight smile and sort of squat face looks like what Dakota Fanning will look like in ten years. Her short neck makes her look awkward in jackets with strong shoulders. When I look at her, I also see Blake Lively, and she bothers me too.

I hate to admit she’s in most of my lookbooks, but she is. Not on account of her face, but the clothes she’s wearing, or the runways she’s walking.

This post was a waste of time and writing. What horrible writing. Kill me now.

Sidenote:

So who do I like seeing walk down the runway and in magazine spreads? Anouck Lepere, Daria Werbowy, Sasha Pivovarova, Gemma Ward, Kate Moss, Doutzen Kroes, Coco Rocha (even though her nose bothers me sometimes), and Audrey Marnay. No contest.

Brown and I were not meant to be.

I do not like these brown boots anymore. I can’t find myself loving them when I pair them with ANY of my clothing. I will exchange them for black ones. Maybe shorter too. WIth more of a heel.

Or maybe I should wait a few more days. When my aubergine tights come in. Maybe then I can pair them with more. I should get navy tights too.

70% of my closet is black for a reason.
